    Senior Pastor - Rev. Bob Anderson, D.Min.

 

 

Bob became the pastor of United Presbyterian Church in March 2005 following pastorates in Western Pennsylvania. He holds Masters of Divinity, Masters of Theology, and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He also received a Certificate in Spiritual Formation from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Bob is married to Diane and they have three sons – Bob and Bill (identical twins) and Rob – a daughter, Amy, and two granddaughters – Cailin and Kylie.  Bob and Diane enjoy their family, bike riding, walking on the beach and in the mountains.

Linda has been secretary at United and former Southminster Presbyterian Church secretary for eight years. She and her husband, Miles are natives from New England. They have five children and nine grandchildren. Linda loves working with and being part of the United Church Family.

Ministry Coordinator - Cynthia Jaeger, M.A.

 

 

Cindy has a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida and is in private practice as a Mental Health Counselor in Port Orange, FL. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. 

Some of Cindy's responsibilities at United include assisting the pastor in providing pastoral care for congregation members and the community at large. Cindy is assisting the church with congregational transformation by working with the current congregation to create new "portals" in which the "unchurched" can enter into church life. Some of the upcoming venues will include Network Discovery, The Alpha Course and a Contemporary worship experience for 2010.

Cindy is a committed Christian who is involved in the community (both locally and internationally), and is a voice for social change. She serves on the following Boards: Halifax Urban Ministries (H.U.M.), Colombia ChildCare International (C.C.C.I.), The Cornerstone Broadcasting Corporation, FastFood Ministry (FF.M.), and Homes of Hope International (H.O.H.).  She is also recognized as being trained by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA); is a member of the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists; and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Choir Director - Shirley Wang, B.S.

 

 

 

Chinese-American Soprano Shirley Wang is an unusually versatile singer-actress.  Returning for the third time as “Sharon Graham” from Terrance McNally’s award winning play “Master Class”, Xiao Ling will tour with First Coast Opera during October through November 2009 in Northeast and Central Florida. Her debut as the Countess from Le Nozze di Figaro with Central Florida Lyric Opera will take place January, 2010.  In March 2010, she will assume the role of Leonora in Verdi’s Il Throatier also with Central Florida Lyric Opera. She has performed with Orlando Opera, Orlando Philharmonic, Central Florida Lyric Opera, First Coast Opera, Celestial Opera, Intimate Opera, Golden West Opera, California Chamber Orchestra, Valley Symphony Orchestra, Opera Nova, Pasadena City College Concert Orchestra, USC Opera Studio, and St. Edmunds Episcopal Chorale - Orchestra.  Her operatic roles include the Countess, Fiordiligi, Mrs. Alice Ford, Leonora, Violetta, Cio-Cio San, Mimi, Nedda, Gretel, and Laetitia.   

 

 

With Valley Symphony Orchestra in Los Angeles, Shirley was featured as soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy. She also performed as soprano soloist in Faure’s Requiem with St. Edmund’s Episcopal Chorale-Orchestra, and Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate with Pasadena City College Concert Orchestra. As a recitalist, Xiao Ling has concertized in California, Washington, Idaho, Boston, Long Island, and Florida. A native of Taipei, Taiwan, Shirley Wang is a graduate of University of Southern California, and is presently under the tutelage of Bill Schuman. She currently lives in Orlando, Florida.

staff Organist and Pianist- Richard Butler

 

Richard Butler became the organist and pianist of United Presbyterian Church in January of 2010. A resident of Daytona Beach since 1987, he is the piano teacher and staff accompanist at Daytona State College and the accompanist for the Choral Arts Society of Palm Coast. He has also worked with the Bel Canto Singers and the Opera Workshops of Stetson University and Bethune Cookman College. Richard received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. While at the Conservatory, he also served as opera coach and instrumental accompanist and was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda national music honor society. With his friend Linda Freeman Sabline, he gave many two-piano recitals. Among his many performances of contemporary classical music, the composer Ellsworth Milburn gave him the privilege of premiering his piano concerto. His church organ experience includes First Baptist and Cumberland Presbyterian Churches in Lexington, Tennessee, St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Jackson, Tennessee, and Oakley Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
